Today you didn’t listen to my daily stories again,
Making excuses you walk off and leave me alone.
When you do listen you act so cold and serious,
You are disinterested and never listen to the end.
Why is my easy request so hard for you?
All I want is for you to care enough to listen.
Why do you always act so nervous when I talk?
All I want is for you to agree and take my side.
Today you sadly spilled your problems to me,
Making me worry I felt like I needed to help,
When you complain every day I feel trapped,
You never notice how stressed I become for you.
Why is it so hard for you to understand me?
All I want is for you to be happy and smile.
Why do you always seem so troubled?
All I want is for you to be blissful and relax.
Why do we always end up like this?
Seeing the other as the one at fault.
Aren’t we supposed to be the closest?
Yet we act as if we have never met.
I noticed you only smile with others,
You act so heartlessly around me.
When I am in pain and look for you,
You leave me alone with no support.
Why are my expectations too big for you?
I should realize you’re useless at crucial times.
Why do you only know how to be a jerk?
If you can’t actually care for me at least pretend.
I noticed you laugh brightly around others,
You immediately purse your lips around me.
When I fail to help my pride blocks me from you,
If I can’t aid you then maybe I should stay away.
Why do we always end up like this?
Being stubborn and blaming the other.
Aren’t our hearts supposed to be connected?
Yet we act as if we have never met.
Why do we act like we don’t care for each other?
Alone we both shed tears for our love,
Together we look at each other emotionlessly.
Yet both of us know we still love one another.
Why are we so foolish we can’t show our love?
Yet we can't let go.
It will always be painful like this.
Always tears like this.
Always broken like this.
It will always be shattered like this.
